Amy Pascal, the veteran producer of all things Spider-Man, has dropped a couple of hints about upcoming projects.

Brace yourself, because a multitude of competing feelings might be about to hit your noggin, all at the same time. Whilst walking the red carpet for the premiere of the highly-anticipated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, long-time series producer Amy Pascal was asked a couple of questions about the future of various Spider-Man projects.

When it comes to another live action Spider-Man film featuring Tom Holland as Peter Parker, we all expect that successful series to keep on rolling and Pascal confirmed as much, adding that the writers’ strike meant that progress is halted but a fourth film is a certainty.

“Are we going to make another movie?” she responded to a question, “of course, we are. We’re in the process, but the writers strike, nobody is working during the strike. We’re all being supporters and whenever they get themselves together, we’ll get started.”

As for the Spider-Woman project that we think is coming at some point down the road, Pascal responded to questions on that front by saying “sooner than you expect… I cannot tell you yet, but it’s coming”.

Given that Spidey spin-off Madame Web is set to release next year and will likely set up a Spider-Woman solo flick, we would have guessed at 2026. But Pascal’s comment has us wondering if we might be getting the film by 2025 perhaps?

Madame Web (according to IMDb) has The White Lotus’ Sydney Sweeney featuring as Julia Carpenter, one of the several characters to have donned the Spider-Woman spandex so it looks like we could be seeing that incarnation of the character.

Finally, (and prepare for those mixed feelings) Pascal responded to another question from Variety about the prospect of a live action Miles Morales Spider-Man film, stating “you’ll see all of it, it’s all happening.”

Whilst that’s far from confirmation and more of a tease, that’s a nugget of news that is both very exciting and a little bit terrifying. The animated take on Miles is one of the best Spider-Man adaptations (perhaps even the best) that we’ve ever seen and according to reviews of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, that doesn’t look like it will be changing anytime soon. So, a live action take on the character would be both overdue and very welcome indeed.

However, this is Sony and to say that it has fumbled its take on creating a wider Spider-Universe is something of an understatement. We’ll just mention Morbius and not dwell on too many of the other problems and letdowns, of which there  are several.

Miles Morales is one of the most beloved and important characters that Sony has, and the studio really, really would need to get it right. Maybe another collaboration with Marvel Studios might be a good idea?

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse releases is out now. We’ll see you (and presumably lots of other Spidey fans) there.
