Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick return for Another Simple Favour, and here’s the trailer for Paul Feig’s sequel.
A Simple Favour was one of 2018’s most fun films, offering up an assortment of mystery, laughs, twists and turns. A Simple Favour worked out well for everybody involved: audiences enjoyed it, while director Paul Feig and his stars Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively raised their stock by creating a really fun cinema watch. Don’t just take our word for it: the film made an impressive $97m worldwide from a $20m budget before presumably going on to earn even more through streaming deals.
Amazon stepped in to back the sequel when Lionsgate opted not to, and while that means we won’t get to enjoy Another Simple Favour from inside of a cinema when it releases on the 1st of May, we’re nonetheless thankful that the film exists.
Prepare yourself for the classic sequel formula of taking things to an exotic location, because this time around, the action once again ‘follows Stephanie Smothers and Emily Nelson as they head to the beautiful island of Capri, Italy, for Emily’s extravagant wedding to a rich Italian businessman.’

Who needs a summer holiday this year when we can just hang out with Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively in Capri? The increasingly catty chemistry between the duo was one of the first film’s strengths, with Kendrick’s homely vlogger (Kendrick) investigating the disappearance of her elegant (and enigmatic) new best friend (Lively). The outfits look pretty incredible too, so there’s also that to look forward to.
What’s more, we’ve also just realised that Alison Janney is in the ensemble too, alongside Henry Golding and Michele Morrone. And we thought we’d already reached peak excitement. They even put the ‘u’ back into the word ‘favour’ which will surely please our editor no end (Yes! – Ed).
The film releases on May 1st on Prime Video so you might as well get used to the idea that May is going to peak early this year. Here’s the trailer below.
