The film promises to be a sci-fi adventure where ‘the story is set in motion when a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy is threatened by the armies of a tyrannical regent named Balisarius. Desperate people dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighbouring planets to help them make a stand.’ Snyder also released a short make-up test on Twitter too, which you can see below. That's right!!! https://t.co/BU0s15T1sD pic.twitter.com/esuvUerlJR

Jena Malone, Staz Nair, E Duffy, Charlotte Maggi and Sky Yang will also feature. With Star Wars movies seemingly dormant these days, it would certainly be a real win for both Snyder and Netflix if the film launches to a measure of success, especially if it appears at the year’s end, traditionally the time for a Star Wars release in recent times. The film is set to remain in production until November, meaning we can expect to see it some time around late 2023. Whether yesterday’s news about Apple giving its blockbuster Brad Pitt racing film a major theatrical release will catch Netflix’s eye remains to be seen, but with no Star Wars movies in sight, the potential is surely there for Rebel Moon to release in cinemas and gobble up masses of box-office dollars.
