Back To Black starts its home rollout next week, with DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray options to follow in the summer.

Currently the highest-grossing 15 certificate film in the UK in 2024, the story of Amy Winehouse was brought to the screen earlier this year in Sam Taylor-Johnson’s really rather divisive feature, Back To Black.

While Marisa Abela as Winehouse earned plenty of acclaim, questions were asked of the film, and more are likely to follow as it makes its way to home release. Not got long to wait there, either. The film will be debuting on premium video on demand services from 27th May.

Studiocanal has also confirmed that it’s fully supporting the movie via physical media too. The film will be heading to DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray from 1st July 2024.

There’s also going to be a HMV-exclusive ‘First Edition’ too, which is nice. We like HMV, even if it doesn’t seem particularly two-way. Furthermore, a limited edition Steelbook edition has also been confirmed.

You can find more information on the release, and order a copy, right here.

In the meantime, we’ve also got confirmation of some extra features that will be added to the physical media releases. These are on the DVD, Blu-ray and 4K discs…

Finally for now, here’s the synopsis for the film, if you’ve not had the pleasure before…

Charting Winehouse’s vibrant years living in London and her intense journey to fame, Taylor-Johnson directs break-out star Marisa Abela (Industry) as music icon Amy Winehouse.

Supporting Abela are BAFTA-winning actor Jack O’Connell as Blake Fielder-Civil, Eddie Marsan as Mitch Winehouse, Juliet Cowan as Janis Winehouse and Golden Globe and Oscar-nominated Lesley Manville as Amy’s grandmother, Cynthia.

Featuring many of Amy’s hit songs recorded and performed in the film by Marisa Abela, Back To Black is made with the full support of Universal Music Group and SONY Music Publishing.

Preorders have just gone live…
