Martin Lawrence and Will Smith return for the fourth Bad Boys film, Bad Boys: Ride Or Die. Hereās the trailer for the film.
Nearly 30 years after the original film landed, Bad Boys: Ride Or Die is headed for cinemas in a few weeksā time.
The previous film in the series. Bad Boys For Life was the highest-grossing film of 2020, although of course quite a lot of things happened in 2020 which meant that as statistics go, that one doesnāt mean all that much. It was the lowest-grossing number one film since the mid-90s.
The future of the film was up in the air ever since Will Smith severely damaged his public image following the slap incident at 2022ās Oscars ceremony. While the film did eventually find a path to production we imagine that the chances of a Chris Rock cameo are probably pretty low.
Hereās the synopsis: āSmith and Martin Lawrence return as Miami PD detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett who investigate illegal drug trading in Miami. This time however Miami’s finest are now on the run as they’ve been framed by corrupt cops within their own department.ā
Alexander Ludwig, Vanessa Hudgens, Eric Dane, Paola Núñez, Rhea Seehorn, Tasha Smith, Jacob Scipio and Ioan Gruffudd also feature, whilst Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who helmed Bad Boys for Life are returning for this latest instalment.
The trailer looks suitably bombastic and features the same blend of shooty, quippy, explodey that has served the series well over the past three decades.
Will it be the highest-grossing film of 2024? probably not, but the series has endured this long for a reason and should this instalment continue in that trend, Sony and the creatives behind the movie will likely be thinking up what kind of silly suffixes can go after the colon for a fifth film in the series. Bad Boys: Ride Or Die releases in the UK on 5th June.
