Now, she’s written Bad Fairies, an animated musical comedy film for Locksmith Animation.

Bad Fairies will follow “a badass gang of fairies who break every rule in the landā€.

Megan Nicole Dong, creator and director of Netflix animated musical series Centaurworld is directing.

According to Deadline, Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, who co-created the hit musical Six, are onboard as songwriters, with Grammy nominated composer Isabella Summers writing the score. Marlow and Moss won a Tony for Best Original Score for Six. Their new musical Why Am I So Single will open on Broadway this autumn.

Locksmith’s next feature will be That Christmas, another foray into festive fare by Richard Curtis, based on his series of children’s books.

The synopsis reads as follows:

Set against the backdrop of an imaginary seaside town called Wellington-on-Sea, the tale unfolds in the run up to Christmas Day, which is nearly derailed when a monster blizzard hits the region, hampering the return of the parents from a social event in the next town and leaving their children to fend for themselves. In the backround, Father Christmas is doing the rounds.

The film will star Brian Cox as the voice of Santa, alongside Bill Nighy, Rhys Darby, Guz Khan, Jodie Whittaker, Fiona Shaw, Sindhu Vee, Lolly Adefope and Katherine Parkinson. Simon Otto is directing from Curtisā€™ script, the film will stream on Netflix later this year.

Bad Fairies will be released in July 2027, weā€™ll keep you updated as we hear more.
