Birds Of Prey getting fast-tracked video on demand release in the US

Warner Bros moves forward the digital home version of Birds Of Prey in the States to March.

Following its release in cinemas back in February, the expectation had been that the film Birds Of Prey, starring Margot Robbie in the role of Harley Quinn, wouldn’t be released on home services until May in the US at the earliest. Likely June in the UK.

But as times around us continue to change, so news has come to light that Warner Bros has significantly brought forward the video on demand release of Birds Of Prey, and don’t be surprised now if lots more films follow suit. The movie will be arriving on American digital HD services from March 24th.

At the moment, that move isn’t being mirrored in the UK, although it seems that many companies will soon be bowing to the inevitable that nobody is going to the cinema for the next few weeks. As such, it’d be folly to rule out a UK announcement too, but for the minute, on iTunes in Britain for instance there’s no date as of yet.

We’ll keep you posted.
