Marvel Studios’ troubled Blade reboot won’t be arriving late next year, as its November 2025 slot is taken by Predator: Badlands.
Marvel Studios’ Blade will not be coming out on November 7th 2025. If you’ve been following the development woes of this particular project, that news won’t come as a surprise to you given that the above date is little more than a year away – and as yet, the film doesn’t officially have a director. For all we know, it doesn’t even have a finished script.
Back in September we covered a story that stated The Harder They Fall director Jeymes Samuel was in line for the director’s chair, a move which would have seen the filmmaker become the project’s third director following the departures of Bassam Tariq and Yann Demange. Not long after however, Samuels debunked that report from World Of Reel, stating that he had nothing to do with the upcoming project.
We currently know that Eric Pearson is working on a new script, with the efforts of six previous writers not meeting the approval of Marvel boss Kevin Feige. As far back as August we were casting serious doubts on the project making its billed November release date, which has now proven to be the case. What we don’t yet know is just how the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s trademark connectivity will be affected by this delay, given that Blade was expected to kick off a new wave of projects developing the supernatural corner of Marvel’s interconnected world of films and television.

Still, it’s not all bad news, as Disney has plugged the November 2025 gap with Predator: Badlands, Dan Trachtenberg’s follow-up to 2022’s Prey. Trachtenberg’s creative reshaping of the ‘human versus monster’ setup breathed some much needed life into an ailing franchise and the filmmaker has promised to take another ‘big swing’ with Predator: Badlands, a movie that will be set in the future and star Elle Fanning as twin sisters.
With Prey being well-received but not getting a theatrical release, it seems that this time around Disney has learned its lesson on that front, particularly given the financial success of this year’s Alien: Romulus. The company announced a few other release dates as well, but these were all untitled so at the moment. When we do hear more about the future of Blade or more details on Predator: Badlands, we’ll let you know.
