Thereā€™s a convent, thereā€™s a dead priest, and thereā€™s a supernatural mystery: hereā€™s more about the upcoming movie Consecration. Dig into the back catalogue of director Christopher Smith and there’s plenty to enjoy. Most recently, the horror The Banishing was really rather good, and he’s also helmed the likes of Black Death, Triangle, Detour and family festive film Get Santa. He’s sticking with horror for his next film though, a supernatural thriller by the name of Consecration. It’s a film that’s described as set in a Scottish convent, and Smith has penned the screenplay for the movie along with Laurie Cook. The central character is Grace, who heads to a Scottish convent to find out more about the death of her brother, who was a priest. There are, inevitably, secrets that she begins to uncover. The plan is to shoot the movie in Scotland and in London, although no cast has thus far been announced. That said, work is underway with the production setting up for filming towards the end of the summer. We suspect the finished film will be with us in 2022, and as we hear more, we’ll let you know.
