Sequels are announced to the action thrillers Cold Pursuit and Gunpowder Milkshake at the Cannes Film Festival.
Announcements are starting to come out of the Cannes Film Festival, which is back up and running in France. And one of the companies revealing its upcoming slate is Studiocanal.
We learned yesterday that Paddington 3 is definite, and the plan is to start shooting that by the middle of next year. You can read more about that here.
But also in Studiocanal’s presentation came news of two further sequels. The first is to the Liam Neeson-headlined thriller Cold Pursuit. You might remember that was the film where Neeson took a bit of a turn on the interview circuit, generating headlines that utterly overshadowed the release of the film. Still, over time it must have done enough business to warrant more, and presumably Neeson will be back for Cold Pursuit 2.
Furthermore, it’s also pressing ahead with a follow-up to Gunpowder Milkshake, its upcoming action thriller that heads to Sky Cinema over here in September, and Netflix elsewhere in the world.
No dates have been announced for either project, but we’ll keep you posted as we hear more about them.
