The new cut of 1999 favourite But I’m A Cheerleader is heading to the UK from the middle of June – more details on it here.
It may not have set the box office alight on its original release, but time has rightly been kind to the excellent But I’m A Cheerleader. The 1999 movie starring Natasha Lyonne and Clea DuVall follows a teenager sent to a ‘rehabilitation’ camp by her parents when they suspect she might be a lesbian. Just to give you a flavour of which direction this goes, if you’ve never seen the film, RuPaul plays the camp counsellor.
It’s a biting romantic comedy and a really, really good one, and last year we learned that a version of the film with footage put back in was on the way. We weren’t sure if there were plans for a UK release of the new cut at that stage, but look what’s gone and popped up on the UK release schedules!
The film is set to get a new Blu-ray release over here from June 21st, and you can preorder it and find more information on the release here.
We’ll leave you with the confirmed list of extra features…

* But I’m A Cheerleader Class Reunion
