Director Prano Bailey-Bond will follow up the acclaimed Censor with Things We Lost In The Fire ā more details here.
The current cover film of our magazine is the British horror Censor, the superb directorial debut from Prano Bailey-Bond. And even as that movie gets ready for its end of August release in UK cinemas, we get the news of what her next project is going to be.
It’ll be Things We Lost In The Fire, that she’s co-writing with Anthony Fletcher as well as directing. It tells the story of a terrorised female community, one whose response to the male violent they endure is described as ‘ever more extreme’.
It’s based on a short story by Mariana Enriquez, and as per the description, ‘the story marries elements of horror and feminism in a subversive commentary on the modern day beauty myth; a dark vision of a society where women take back control of their image in the most drastic manner imaginable’.
No word as of yet of casting on the project, but as we hear more on the movie we’ll let you know…
