Robert De Niro mob drama Wiseguys is now shooting, Cosmo Jarvis has joined the cast of the new film, from the writer of Goodfellas.

It’s been some time since we had an update on Wiseguys. It was reported last year that Robert De Niro would be taking on a dual role as Italian American crime bosses Vito Genovese and Frank Costello, who ran their respective families during the 20th century. In 1957, Genovese attempted, but failed, to assassinate Costello, who was injured and ultimately attempted to retire from the mafia.

British actor Cosmo Jarvis, of Lady Macbeth and Calm With Horses fame, has joined the cast.

Barry Levinson, with whom De Niro previously worked on Wag the Dog and Sleeper directs from a screenplay by Goodfellas writer Nicholas Pileggi and Raging Bull producer Irwin Winkler.

Wiseguys is currently in production, we’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
