Apple TV+ has renewed the Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo crime drama Criminal Record for a second series, here are the details.
Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo first met onscreen in the poweful, haunting third series of Torchwood: Children Of Earth, which remains one of the most chilling stories ever connected to Doctor Who.
Criminal Record, which premiered on Apple TV+ last year, followed Jumbo and Capaldi as June Lenker and Daniel Hegarty, two police officers who clash violently over their opposing approaches to police work, as an anonymous phone call draws them both into an old murder case.
Itās now been announced that the crime drama has been renewed for a second series on Apple TV+. The synopsis, via Variety, reads as follows:
June Lenker is set as the senior officer on the scene when far-right counter-protesters attack a political rally. The clash leaves a young man dead, which consumes June with guilt and drives her to bring the unknown killer to justice.
June’s best hope in finding the killer is Daniel Hegarty, who is now a key figure in the shadowy world of police intelligence. He may have the answers she needs, but to get his help, she will have to accept a dangerous bargain.
