Saw 10 is definitely happening, and a couple more details have been released about the latest sequel in the saga.
Given that Spiral: From The Book Of Saw managed to gross over $40 million on a $20 million budget, it means that another installment in the Saw saga was a near inevitability. So it has proved to be, as the tenth entry in the franchise is finally coming together.
As with Spiral, on which franchise veteran Darren Lynn Boseman returned to direct, another familiar face is back behind the camera for this one. Kevin Greutert will direct the new film. Not only did Greutert helm the sixth and seventh Saws, he also served as an editor on the series since the original film in 2004.
Plot details are being kept strictly under wraps by Twisted Pictures, who is producing the film, but it’s a fair assumption that it will follow the familiar formula of putting people in a variety of gruesome, symbolic traps.
It is not yet known if Jigsaw, as played by Tobin Bell, will feature in the new film, as he had done in every entry until Spiral. Given the labyrinthine continuity of the Saw series, anything is possible.
Saw 10 is due to be released on the 27th October 2023. We’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
