The next Disney+ day will kick off with the debut of Robert Zemeckis’ Pinocchio film, starring Tom Hanks: more details and a trailer here. The film that’s reunited, once again, director Robert Zemeckis and star Tom Hanks is heading to Disney+ on Thursday September 8th. The project is the live action retelling of Pinocchio, that sees Tom Hanks take on the role of Gepetto, and Zemeckis behind the camera. Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will play the title role, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Jiminy Cricket. Keegan Michael-Key, Cynthia Erivo, Lorraine Bracco and Luke Evans help round out the cast. The first footage from the movie has popped up in a teaser trailer, here. And it’s now been announced that Pinocchio will spearhead the second Disney+ Day. You might recall that this was the day last year when the studio launched a whole load of material on one day. Disney hasn’t yet announced what the rest of the day’s goodies will look like, and given its paucity of resources, it’s going to rely on websites like this one to spread the word. We’ll think about lending it a hand.
