Disney has been deleting more of its self-made shows and films from the Disney+ streaming service, attracting more ācontent impairment chargesā.
It’s been about 18 months since we first had to learn what the term ‘content impairment charge’ meant, as Disney spent around $2bn to delete films and TV shows from its Disney+ streaming service. These weren’t shows and movies it bought it. Rather, it was productions it made itself, but by deleting them, it could save money on ongoing residuals and such like.
Yep, it’s cheaper not to show you things long term, even if you paid for them in the first place.
Anyway, as you’ve probably gleamed from the headline to this particular piece, here we go again. We’re indebted to the WhatsOnDisneyPlus site for alerting us to another collection of productions that are being removed from Disney’s services.
Just to ice this particular cake, Disney’s virtually non-existent commitment to physical media means that the majority of these productions you won’t be able to get anywhere else either. They’re just going to disappear.

Don’t be surprised if further titles follow over the coming days as well. Furthermore, even if the names on this list are unfamiliar to you, or aren’t things you particular care about, it’s worth noting – to paraphrase Die Hard – that sooner or later they tend to get to something you do care about.
We’ll keep you posted as we hear more. Previous Disney+ deletions can be found here.
