The BBC has revealed the titles, writers and directors of all eight episodes of the new series of Doctor Who, starring Ncuti Gatwa.

With a little over a month to go before the debut of Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson’s first full series aboard the TARDIS, the BBC have released the titles of all eight episodes, along with the details of who wrote and directed them. Without further ado, here they are:

Episode One – Space Babies

Writer: Russell T Davies
Director: Julie Anne Robinson

Episode Two – The Devil’s Chord

Writer: Russell T Davies

Director: Ben Chessell

Episode Three – Boom

Writer: Steven Moffat

Director: Julie Anne Robinson

Episode Four – 73 Yards

Writer: Russell T Davies

Director: Dylan Holmes Williams

Episode Five – Dot and Bubble

Writer: Russell T Davies

Director: Dylan Holmes Williams

Episode Six – Rogue

Writers: Kate Herron and Briony Redman

Director: Ben Chessell

Episode Seven – The Legend of Ruby Sunday

Writer: Russell T Davies

Director: Jamie Donoughue

Episode Eight – Empire of Death

Writer: Russell T Davies

Director: Jamie Donoughue

So that’s six by the showrunner, one by a former showrunner and one by two writers new to the show.

While it may disappoint anyone hoping for some new voices, Davies has said in the past that he hopes to give opportunities to new writers. As he presumably has a heck of a lot to set up in the first series, hopefully there will be even more new writers in the next series.

You can see a video with each title, which reveals a little bit about the setting of each episode, on the Doctor Who Twitter page.

The official Doctor Who website also confirmed guest stars for the series, including Bridgerton star Golda Rosheuvel in Space Babies, Callie Cooke, Dame Siân Phillips, Alexander Devrient, Bhav Joshi, Majid Mehdizadeh-Valoujerdy, Tachia Newall and Caoilinn Springall.

Guest stars already confirmed were Michelle Greenidge, Angela Wynter, Anita Dobson, Aneurin Barnard, Yasmin Finney, Jonathan Groff, Gwïon Morris Jones, Bonnie Langford, Genesis Lynea, Jemma Redgrave, Lenny Rush and Indira Varma.

The first two episodes of the new series of Doctor Who will be available at midnight on the 11th May on BBC iPlayer, before being broadcast in the evening.
