Exclusive: first details on the Willy Fog movie

The feature film of Around The World With Willy Fog is set to arrive in 2023 – a few more details can be found here. As you may know, there’s a film on the way early next year of the much-loved childrens’ animation series, Dogtanian & The Three Muskehounds. The animated feature is staying true to the original show, unsurprising when you consider it’s being made by some of the people who were originally involved with it. Those same people then moved on to make Around The World With Willy Fog, and that’s just what’s happening when it comes to films too. Dogtanian wraps production this side of Christmas, and then director Toni Garcia and his team move on to bringing Willy Fog to the big screen. We’ve got a lot more details on both films in the current issue of Film Stories magazine, available here. But we’ve exclusively learned that the new movie will be CG animated, and produced by Apolo Films in Spain. Furthermore, Toni Garcia has confirmed to Film Stories that the plan is to have the movie ready and in cinemas in the year 2023. Early pre-production sketches and concept art is already complete, and there’s a full outline for the movie. “My idea is to start working on the film in January”, he tells us. What’s more, he also confirmed to us that the legendary theme tune will remain, and that seven new songs are also being written for the film. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more about the movie.
