Naomi Ackie and Channing Tatum will be bolstered by a fun supporting cast in Pussy Island, that Zoe Kravtiz will direct.
Zoe Kravitz is currently in production on her next project, Pussy Island, which she has co-written (alongside E.T. Feigenbaum) and will direct. Channing Tatum signed on in the lead role alongside Naomi Ackie some months ago now. However, as the film enters production, the rest of the ensemble has been revealed and it looks like like it could be a fun watch.
Christian Slater, Alia Shawkat, Geena Davis, Haley Joel Osment and Kyle MacLachlan have all signed up, bringing their respective talents to the cast. In addition, Adria Arjona, Liz Caribel Sierra, Levon Hawke, Trew Mullen, Saul Williams and Cris Costa have also just been announced. From the provocative title to the slightly off-beat casting, (including Tatum admitting he’s playing against type here) we very much like where this project is going and are intrigued to know more.
The film will follow Naomi Ackie’s Frida, ‘a young, clever, Los Angeles cocktail waitress who has her eyes set on the prize: philanthropist and tech mogul Slater King (Tatum). When she skilfully manoeuvres her way into King’s inner circle and ultimately an intimate gathering on his private island, she is ready for a journey of a lifetime. Despite the epic setting, beautiful people, ever-flowing champagne and late-night dance parties, Frida can sense that there’s more to this island than meets the eye. Something she can’t quite put her finger on. Something that is a bit terrifying.’
MGM is behind the promising genre pic, which is currently in production in Mexico. We’ll bring you more on this one as we hear it.
