Another character from past DC films is revealed in the final trailer ahead of The Flash’s release in cinemas next month.
Next month sees the launch of The Flash, the solo movie for the Justice League member that has seemed to take forever to come together. It’s been a bumpy road too, what with Ezra Miller’s legal difficulties and the highly-anticipated return of Michael Keaton as Batman being deflated some by the Batgirl movie cancellation, a film in which he was set to also feature.
Still, The Flash has reportedly been well received by preview audiences and no less than the DC Universe’s new top creative, James Gunn called it “one of the best superhero movies I’ve ever seen” so there’s still a fair amount of buzz accompanying this project. There’s also a brief appearance from another character we’ve previously seen in Zack Snyder’s movies.
Based on the Flashpoint comic book series, the synopsis goes like this: ‘Worlds collide in The Flash when Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod (Michael Shannon) has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to. That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian… albeit not the one he’s looking for.’
The narrative for The Flash will no doubt continue to be as interesting as the film itself for some time to come, but after taking what feels like forever to get to the screen, we can finally judge the movie ourselves when it releases on June 16th.
Here’s the final trailer for it…
