One of the films that put Sylvester Stallone on the map is getting a new 4K Steelbook release: it’s First Blood.

Along with Rocky, the film that launched Sylvester Stallone’s career into orbit – or at least the character – was John Rambo. And as cartoonish and throwaway the later sequels have become, the first film is a bona fide classic.

Entitled First Blood and co-starring Brian Dennehy, Stallone is on excellent form here in a much darker tale than those new to the franchise may be expecting.

The movie, directed by Ted Kotcheff, is 40 years old this very year, and the occasion is now being marked, we learn, with a brand 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Steelbook release. As is the norm, the disc itself is the existing release, and we get posh Steelbook packaging this time around.

The new set is available from November 21st. You can find more information on it, and order a copy, right here.
