This  unusual-sounding film The Fox has a strangely-compelling setup and is set to shoot next year.  Saint Maud star Morfydd Clark – once a cover star of Film Stories magazine, no less – has recently been seen by lots of eyeballs in Amazon’s Rings Of Power show. However, she’s (quite deliberately we’d imagine) chosen something much smaller for her next role, a leading part in The Fox, a film that is being described as ‘a darkly-comic folk story.’ Suicide Squad’s Jai Courtney will also star, with the film’s conceit sounding oddly fun: ‘The heir to a vineyard dynasty takes drastic action after discovering his fiancé is cheating on him. He decides to follow the advice of a fox, who promises him a way to transform his doomed relationship, which involves pushing his loved one down a magic hole.’ Well, it had our money at the ‘decides to follow the advice of a fox’ part, so we’re fully on board to see which weird and wonderful directions this one goes in. Australia’s Causeway Films, whose previous credits include The Babadook are producing, with the UK’s Protagonist Pictures also involved and looking to find a worldwide distributor at the upcoming American Film Market. Shooting is set to commence in Australia in the middle of next year. We’ll let you know more as we hear it.
