Lionsgate has revealed the trailer for 2023’s Plane, which features Gerard Butler as a pilot-turned action hero.
In 2023’s Plane, Gerard Butler is set to play a hero pilot who becomes, well, just an all-round hero. The Lionsgate action film features Butler as the fantastically-named Brodie Torrance, a commercial airline pilot who manages to save the lives of his passengers when their plane is struck by lightning. And that’s just the setup!
The film is directed by Assault On Precinct 13's Jean-François Richet, co-stars Luke Cage star Mike Colter and is set to release next year.
Here’s the synopsis:
‘Butler plays pilot Brodie Torrance who saves his passengers from a lightning strike by making a risky landing on a war-torn island – only to find that surviving the landing was just the beginning. When most of the passengers are taken hostage by dangerous rebels, the only person Torrance can count on for help is Louis Gaspare (Colter), an accused murderer who was being transported by the FBI.’
Sounds like fun to us.
Yoson An, Daniella Pineda, Paul Ben-Victor, Remi Adeleke, Joey Slotnick, Evan Dane Taylor, Claro de los Reyes, and Tony Goldwyn also co-star, and is it stands, it seems like the film is definitely angling for a theatrical release this coming January. We’ll bring you more on Plane as we hear it.
Here’s that trailer.
