After collaborating on Baby In The Basket, Flickering Myth and Shepka Productions are now working on Death Among The Pines.
The Baby In The Basket, a gothic horror from Flickering Myth and Shepka Productions, is now out digitally in the UK and the US, but the teams behind the film are already looking ahead.
Flickering Myth, Shepka Productions and Jolliffe Productions are teaming up again, this time to craft a suspense thriller set in Scotland. Tom Jolliffe has written the script and Nathan Shepka is in the director’s chair. He’ll also star and will be joined by Nicolette McKeown, Stephen Kerr, and Olly Bassi.
Titled Death Among The Pines, it will be set in the late 1970s. One day, a stranger knocks on Angela’s door, but the night takes another turn as the police show up. Death Among The Pines is going into production in March in southern Scotland, and is eyeing a 2026 release date.
Here’s a synopsis:
Set in Scotland in the late 1970’s, farm cottage dweller Angela (McKeown) receives a knock on the door by a damp and dirty stranger (Shepka) claiming that his tyre has blown a couple of miles down the road. Angela lets him in to warm up but is this man really telling the truth? Matters are then further complicated by the arrival of a police officer (Kerr) asking questions.
“We are excited to be teaming up with Flickering Myth and Jolliffe again on a tense, tightly wound thriller geared for streaming audiences,” Shepka said via the Flickering Myth website. “The hope was that The Baby in the Basket would be the start of many fruitful collaborations.”
The production is soon launching a crowdfunding campaign to aid with the costs and you can sign up for updates on that here if you’d like to support them.
