Warner Bros is changing the title of David Robert Mitchell’s secretive sci-fi thriller Flowervale Street to… something else, they’ve revealed.
It Follows director David Robert Mitchell has spent the past couple of years working away on a mysterious sci-fi thriller. It stars Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor, has previously been described as an “IMAX thrill-ride” – and it appears to contain time-travel and dinosaurs.
No trailer has emerged as yet, and its release date was pushed quite drastically from May 2025 to August 2026. And now the title, Flowervale Street, is about to be changed.
In an interview with The Wrap, spotted by World Of Reel, Warner Bros studio bosses Pam Abdy and Michael De Luca mentioned Mitchell’s film as one they’re particularly excited about in their list of offerings for 2026.
Interestingly, neither mention it by name. De Luca says, “I’m really excited about this Twilight Zone kind of JJ Abrams-produced movie that David Robert Mitchell, who’s usually an indie director, did.”
Abdy then adds, “We’re changing the title on that,” before abruptly changing the subject to Alejandro Inarritu’s Digger (a movie we’re rather excited about too, for what it’s worth).
The use of the present tense appears to suggest that the bosses haven’t decided what new name they should go with. We must admit, we long assumed that it was a working title in any case, though it does have echoes of Cloverfield, prompting us to wildly speculate that Mitchell’s film might be a secret spin-off from that franchise.
Whether we’re right or not, the film formerly known as Flowervale Street is one of our most anticipated sci-fi films of 2026. It Follows was one of the best horror films of the 2010s, and Under Silver Lake was a captivatingly weird thriller follow-up – even if ticket-buying audiences didn’t agree at the time.
As for Mitchell’s latest, our alternate title suggestions include:
DINOSAURS IN TIME
TIME-O-SAURUS
DINOSAUR STREET
FLOWERVALE: ARES
