Just two weeks out from the debut of the hugely anticipated film, get a final glimpse of Furiosa – George Miller’s return to the world of Mad Max.

So here we are. In just a couple of weeks, one of 2023’s most anticipated films will arrive, bringing George Miller’s world of Mad Max back to cinemas for the first time since 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road wowed audiences with its incredible scale and ambition. It pulled off the sort of practical action movie spectacle that was sorely missing from cinema in an age of ever-increasing CGI.

There’s probably not been an action movie to come close to it since, and so there’s an outsized sense of expectation accompanying George Miller’s follow-up, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. The film has taken a long time to arrive, but arrived it almost has, with its mammoth production easily becoming Australia’s biggest ever movie shoot.

While early whispers suggest its structure might differ significantly from the madcap road movie that was Fury Road, the word is that the film was very much worth the wait. With Furiosa's release just a couple of weeks away, Warner Bros have released a final trailer to tease that wave of anticipation into a frenzy.

As for the prequel’s story, here’s the synopsis:

As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.

Anya Taylor-Joy will play the young version of Furiosa, the character memorably portrayed by Charlize Theron in Mad Max: Fury Road. The trailer also shows some of Chris Hemsworth as the lead antagonist, Dementus.

Directed by George Miller, who has co-written the script alongside Nick Lathouris, the film has a release date scheduled for the 24th May 2024. Here’s that trailer below.
