Gerard Butler and Frank Grillo will join forces for the thriller Copshop, that’s set to start filming in October. Whilst we wait to discover when the Gerard Butler-headlined Greenland will land on the release schedules (having been delayed from its August debut by current matters), the man himself is keeping busy. He’s heading onto his next project, an action thriller going by the name of Copshop. In this one, he’s going to star alongside Frank Grillo, and the pair will do battle in a small town police station. Butler will be a professional hit man, Grillo is to be a con man looking to get to safety behind bars, and in the midst of them will be a female cop. Who’s taking that role on remains to be seen. The film was written by Kurt McLeod originally, and the script’s latest draft has been put together by Joe Carnahan. Furthermore, it’s been confirmed that Carnahan will be directing the movie as well. STX has the rights to distribute the film in the UK, and we await news of a British release date with interest. Don’t expect the film until late next year at the earliest. More, of course, as we hear it.
