Time to run amok, Hocus Pocus 2 is confirmed for a 2022 Disney+ release.
Gather round sistahs, because the Sanderson sisters are returning once more. Hocus Pocus 2 has been confirmed for a 2022 release on Disney+ via a tweet as part of the Disney National Streaming Day announcements.
When we last spoke about the long awaited sequel back in 2020, the three original stars were only rumoured to be returning for the film but today’s announcement confirms the witches will be back to put a spell on us all. The original film was released in 1993 so the sequel will have been almost 30 years in the making, but fans of the film new and old are rejoicing at the oppourtunity to be bewitched by the Sandersons once again. Hocus Pocus has become a cult classic over the years, experiencing the yearly rewatches that Christmas films are so often treated to. Originally set to be directed by Adam Shankman, who is now busy at work on Disenchanted, the film will be directed by Anne Fletcher (Dumplin’ and Hot Pursuit).
