The box office smash Inside Out 2, from Disney and Pixar, is confirmed for Disney+ UK at the end of this very month.

Currently sitting as the biggest film of the year at the global box office, the record-shattering sequel Inside Out 2 has given Disney, Pixar and multiplexes one hell of a shot in the arm this year. For Pixar in particular it’s been good to see, given how Disney has shortchanged so many of its films in recent years by letting them bypass cinemas and going direct to its Disney+streaming service.

In the case of Inside Out 2, it is going to streaming of course, but only several months after its cinema debut. In fact, we’ve got word now that Disney will be putting the film on its Disney+ service from 25th September 2024. That’s two weeks away from the point this story is being written.

We already know that Inside Out 2 is coming to physical media as well. As we covered here, the movie will be landing on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray from 30th September.

Also from the official blurb that Disney has put out regarding the news, it says that from 27th September, new and returning customers can subscribe to Disney+ Standard with Ads for £1.99 a month for a three month period. Presumably this is to stave off those who have cancelling due to the rising cost of the service.

Think that’s everything. We’ll leave you with the synopsis of the film, on the very slim chance that you’ve never heard of it…

Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2 returns to the mind of newly minted teenager Riley just as headquarters is undergoing a sudden demolition to make room for something entirely unexpected: new Emotions! Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust, who’ve long been running a successful operation by all accounts, aren’t sure how to feel when Anxiety shows up. And it looks like she’s not alone. Maya Hawke lends her voice to Anxiety, alongside Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear, and Liza Lapira as Disgust. Directed by Kelsey Mann and produced by Mark Nielsen.
