As Total Recall celebrates its 30th birthday, the 1990 movie is set to head to Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray later in the year.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that amongst the many catalogue titles StudioCanal was working on, there was a fresh version of 1990’s Total Recall. The film, directed by Paul Verhoeven, starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and was a huge box office smash of course. It remains one of the most loved films in Arnie’s back catalogue.

The film’s 30th birthday is this year of course, but given the fact that 2020 has had other ideas for many people’s plans, we couldn’t help wondering if the reissue had been put back. However, over at Amazon in Germany, details popped up of the release for November of this year.

As reported by the German site Area DVD, the new release – on Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray – looks like it’s set for November 19th, and the extra features that were temporarily posted read:

  • TOTAL EXCESS: How Carolco changed Hollywood
  • OPEN YOUR MIND: The film music
  • DREAMERS WITHIN THE DREAM: The making of Total Recall
  • Audio commentary by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Paul Verhoeven
  • The special effects of TOTAL RECALL
  • Making of
  • Interview with the film team
  • Trailer

We await confirmation of a UK release, but hopefully that won’t be too far away. More, of course, as we hear it.
