Glass Onion star Janelle Monáe has revealed that she and Get Outās Jordan Peele are planning to work together, but on what remains a mystery.
Jordan Peele is well known for being rather elusive when it comes to future movies. Nope, his most recent film, was a masterclass in how to market and release such a project, as well as being one of the best films of 2022.
Peele has a film currently scheduled for release in 2026, but given the preamble above, donāt expect us to have many details to share with you. It sounds as though itās going to be another horror film from the filmmaker, but beyond that, we know nothing.
One person that does know something is Janelle Monáe. The singer and actor has told People that she and Peele have āspoken about making [a] filmā together, apparently as recently as this year. Naturally, that gets the brain thinking about Monae starring in Peeleās next film ā but from her brief reveal, that sounds unlikely:
āWe texted a few months ago, and he and I both said weāre going to make our movie,ā she added. āSo I think it will happen. Itās just timing.ā
While itās possible that Peele is still locking down timings for his next project, it all sounds a little too vague, doesnāt it? Instead, it suggests that this could be another film at some point in the future.

Unsurprisingly though, one detail that does look to be confirmed is the genre of their planned collaboration, which will almost certainly be horror. āIāve learned to make sure that itās done before you mention it,ā Monáe says about revealing project details, before adding that “I love the horror genre, we love the psychological-thriller genre, and we canāt wait to work with one another.”
Monáe has either starred or featured in some absolute bangers over the years, including a central role in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, not to mention Hidden Figures, Moonlight and Harriet. Sheās proven adept at making tasteful choices in her acting career and a Jordan Peele film would only embellish that filmography. We just wish we knew what it was. Or when it was coming out. Or what it was about. When more details do escape Peeleās impenetrable veil of secrecy though, fear not ā weāll be waiting.
