The first sequel to Jaws gets a surprise 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray outing, with the disc set to land in the UK in July: more here.
I’m still trying to get to the bottom of the theory that Steven Spielberg has in his contract somewhere that Universal can no longer sell the sequels to Jaws alongside his original film. Whilst the first three films were once upon a time packaged together on video, ever since the release of the non-Oscar-winning Jaws: The Revenge, the sequels have tended to be put together in their own boxset. The original is thus given the stage to itself.
Anyway, whilst I keep trying to work that out, Universal will be bringing the really rather enjoyable Jaws 2 to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray this summer. The film is landing on the format on July 17th 2023, in a package that includes just the 4K disc. No word on extra features, but it all whets the appetite for surely the Jaws film everyone’s waiting for on the format: Jaws 3-D.
