The schedules for John Wick 4 and The Matrix 4 may be about to give Keanu Reeves a bit of a headache.
Busy times in the life of Keanu Reeves, with sequels to his three most beloved franchises (sorry, Speed) all on the way.
Filming has wrapped on Bill & Ted Face The Music, which heads to UK cinemas next August. And on his upcoming slate are two, well, ‘four-quels’. Specifically, John Wick 4 and The Matrix 4. Both are highly intensive projects, involved a hefty time commitment and no shortage of training.
But which is coming first? According to a new report at Comic Book, there’s uncertainty over which of the movies he’s going to do next. Lance Reddick, one of his co-stars in the John Wick series, told the site that a script wasn’t in place for the fourth adventure in that franchise as of a month ago.
āI know theyāre working on it”, he added, “but part of the problem in terms of scheduling now is that Keanu signed on to do The Matrix 4 and he has the new Bill & Ted coming up. He has three franchises heās juggling so Iām just not sure if heās going to do The Matrix 4 or John Wick next”.
John Wick: Chapter 4 currently has a UK release date inked in of Friday 21st May 2021. The Matrix 4 doesn’t have a date as of yet, and on paper appears earmarked for 2022. But the extensive post-production work involved there may mean filming as to come first – which in turn would have a John Wick knock-on.
More on the potential clash here as we hear it. Rest assured that Bill & Ted 3 will be arriving in 2020 either way.
