The work and influence of author Judy Blume is being discussed in a terrific new documentary – and the trailer for the film has landed.

Debuting earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival, the upcoming documentary Judy Blume Forever – as the title suggests – digs into the story of the bestselling author. With Blume herself at the heart of the film, it follows her groundbreaking work, her battles with censors, and the huge fan base that she built up. The film also digs into the huge amount of fan mail she’s received across her career, and talks to some of the people who sent it.

Davina Pardo and Leah Wolchok have directed the movie, and it’s arriving on Amazon’s Prime Video service on April 21st. What’s more, the first trailer has arrived, and it looks like this…

For the minute, we’ll leave you with the synopsis…

The radical honesty of the books by trailblazing author Judy Blume changed the way millions of adolescent readers understood themselves, their sexuality, and what it meant to grow up, but also led to critical battles against book banning and censorship. With humor, sensitivity, and a healthy dose of adolescent cringe, JUDY BLUME FOREVER tells the story of the woman whose trail-blazing books changed the way millions of readers understand themselves, their sexuality, and what it means to grow up.
