Announced just under a year ago, we know have a firmer idea of what form BRZRKR  – with Keanu Reeves – will take. It’s been a busy couple of years for Mr Keanu Reeves. He’s got another John Wick flick on the way (catch the new trailer here), starred in a video game (2020’s Cyberpunk 2077) and is set to voice none other than Batman in the animated DC League Of Super-Pets which releases this weekend. Not content with ruling all forms of media, Reeves was also immortalised in comic book form earlier last year with the debut of the Boom! Studios character, BRZRKR. The story of an immortal warrior was not only co-written by Reeves, but the lead character happens to bear his likeness too. It was reported back in March of last year, when the comic book made its debut, that Netflix had snapped up the rights to the comic book and was planning on making a movie  – starring Reeves of course – as well as an anime series based upon the following premise: ‘BRZRKR follows “an immortal warrior’s 80,000-year fight through the ages. The man known only as ‘B’ is half-mortal and half-god, cursed and compelled to violence … even at the sacrifice of his sanity. But after wandering the earth for centuries, B may have finally found a refuge — working for the U.S. government to fight the battles too violent and too dangerous for anyone else. In exchange, B will be granted the one thing he desires — the truth about his endless blood-soaked existence … and how to end it. It has now been announced that the movie will also come in anime form, closely followed by the series which will span two seasons. What’s more, you can catch a trailer for the comic book that details the character’s story below. Production I.G. is on animation duty, having previously handled such projects as Ghost In The ShellGuilty CrownEden Of The East, Psycho-Pass, and Haikyu!!. We still don’t have a firm release date for this one but we’ll bring you more as we hear it.
