Clerks 3 is back on the cards, confirms Kevin Smith, two years after the project was dropped.
On the eve of the American release of his new feature, Jay & Silent Bob Reboot, writer and director Kevin Smith has confirmed that the long-mooted Clerks 3 has come back to life.
This will be music to the ears for fans of Smith’s View Askewniverse. The project had been announced before, along with a Mallrats sequel, but both petered out around 2017. Now, though, Smith says that not only is Clerks 3 back on, but that Jeff Anderson is confirmed to return as well (there had been some doubt as to whether he wanted to make another film in the series).
Interestingly, it’ll be a whole new Clerks 3 it seems, and not the version that Smith was previously intending to make.
Here’s the full announcement, that Smith made on his Instagram feed…
