Osgood Perkins’ Longlegs, starring Maika Monroe and Nicolas Cage, is coming to UK DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray next month.
The film that proved this summer it’s possible to not have a monster budget and still break through at the box office? That’d be Longlegs, starring Maika Monroe, Nicolas Cage, and quite a wig. Directed by Osgood Perkins, the film was sold off the back of an exceptional marketing campaign, and it helped itself to over $70m at the US box office. A really good result.
It didn’t do too badly outside of America too, and now Longlegs will look to mop up a good chunk of new eyeballs as it finds its ways to home formats. And here in the UK, it’s getting a full physical media release, with a DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray due in October.
21st October is the release date for Longlegs on disc, and all versions of the release come with additional features too. Black Bear is the studio behind the release of the movie in the UK.
The extras included are an audio commentary from Osgood Perkins (and a big hurray for director commentaries, a bunch of on-set interviews, trailers, and some clips.
The DVD and Blu-ray editions can be found here.
The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray appears to be a Steelbook in the first instance, and you can find that here.
The synopsis for the movie, if you’re unfamiliar with it, reads as follows…
FBI Agent Lee Harker is assigned to an unsolved serial killer case that takes an unexpected turn, revealing evidence of the occult. Harker discovers a personal connection to the killer and must stop him before he strikes again.
Our review of the film, too, can be found here. We were really rather taken with it.
Longlegs is up for preorder now, from all the usual places.
