It looks like Martin Scorsese is following up Killers Of The Flower Moon with a story from the same author: more details here.

Earlier this year, director Martin Scorsese – now in his 80s, remember, and with energy levels to put many of us to shame – confirmed that he was looking to get moving quickly on his next movie. He’s just about to promote his latest, Killers Of The Flower Moon, which co-stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone and Robert De Niro. And now? He looks to be reunited with DiCaprio again for his next project.

It’s looking like it’s going to be The Wager: A Tale Of Shipwreck, Mutiny & Murder. It’s a book set in the 1740s, about a shipwreck and its survivors. More to the point, the survivors of the shipwreck facing accusations some six months after they get home.

David Grann has penned the book, and helpfully he also wrote Killers Of The Flower Moon. He’s told the French outlet Telerama that Scorsese has picked up the rights to his work, along with DiCaprio. And it’s looking reasonably likely that it’ll be their next project.

Expect things to move – should the film get the go ahead – once awards season is out the way. We’ll keep you posted as we hear more…
