Hurrah! UK viewers will get Ti West’s MaXXXine at the same time as the US, we’ve learned. More on the news below.

When the UK date for Ti West’s MaXXXine was announced, you could practically hear the collective sigh. While our US friends would be getting the film in July, we’d have to wait until August to watch it.

Thankfully, Universal has moved the film’s release date back to July in the UK. We’ll now be able to watch MaXXXine from the 5th July, on the same day as US peeps.

The news comes to us via X user Tom Linay, and the Universal Pictures’ UK website seems to confirm this.

You can find the MaXXXine trailer below.

MaXXXine is the third film in Ti West’s trilogy which started with 2020’s X. 2022’s Pearl, a prequel to X, premiered at the Venice International Film Festival and became a huge hit for A24. MaXXXine will close the trilogy.

The film will follow Maxine Minx, introduced in X, as she looks for success in Hollywood – only to have her dream threatened by a serial killer.

Here’s the official synopsis:

In 1980s Hollywood, adult film star and aspiring actress Maxine Minx finally gets her big break. But as a mysterious killer stalks the starlets of Hollywood, a trail of blood threatens to reveal her sinister past.

The simultaneous release in the UK and US will help us UK folk avoid spoilers. We’ve previously had to wait for Pearl, which premiered in the US in September 2022 but didn’t land in UK cinemas until March 2023.

MaXXXine is in UK cinemas on the 5th July.
