Beloved Halloween staple Trick ‘r’ Treat might be getting a follow up, according to director Michael Dougherty. Admittedly, there aren’t a lot of details at this stage for this particular story. Still: the news that director Michael Dougherty is actively working on a follow up to his 2007 anthology horror film Trick ‘r’ Treat is, well, a treat. If you’ve never had the pleasure, Trick ‘r’ Treat takes place on Halloween night, as an unsettling young figure called Sam, who wears a burlap sack over his head, stalks an ordinary suburban street. Four creepy stories then unfold, from a murderous principal, the legend of a massacre, a slumber party with a twist and the comeuppance of a Halloween hating neighbour. The film has gained a cult following since it’s release, this news comes just as the film will be shown in US cinemas for the first time. Dougherty is reportedly working with Legendary on the sequel, though stressed that it isn’t yet greenlit but is in “active development”. We’ll keep you updated as we hear more, but the news thus far is promising… Bloody DisgustingThank you for visiting! If you’d like to support our attempts to make a non-clickbaity movie website: Follow Film Stories on Twitter here, and on Facebook here.
