Netflix has officially renewed their live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender for two more seasons.

The live-action adaptation of the popular animated TV show Avatar: The Last Airbender premiered on Netflix less than two weeks ago, but has proven to be very popular with Netflix users.

Netflix reports that the show gathered 41.1 million views in its first 11 days and reached the number 1 spot in 76 countries.

There’s more Avatar in our future too. Netflix has renewed the series for another two seasons to wrap up the story of Aang, a 12-year-old boy who can master all the elements in a world that has been divided into four distinct nations according to the elements.

Very few plot details are available at this time but the press email does promise that the following seasons will “bring The Legend of Aang to its proper conclusion.”

The streaming services didn’t give away when we might see the next season or how many episodes it will include. Presumably, Netflix will want to move ahead with filming the next two seasons very quickly as the cast is made up of mostly children.

Stranger Things famously has had to deal with its child stars growing up quite noticeably. Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin and Gaten Matarazzo were all so baby-faced in the first season of the Duffer Brothers’ Netflix hit, but are now heading into the final season of the show in their early-20s.

Netflix is known for cancelling shows after just one season, making Avatar’s two-season renewal a rare treat. Earlier this week, Netflix pulled the plug on The Brothers Sun and Michelle Yeoh has been sharing her disappointment over it.
