Nicolas Cage will reunite with director Ben Brewer for the future-set thriller Sand And Stones: more on it here.

Nicolas Cage has signed up to make Sand And Stones, a brand new futuristic survival thriller.

The film will be helmed by Ben Brewer who previously directed Cage on The Trust, the SXSW entry that was also Brewer’s directorial debut. Brewer was also a key member of the visual effects team for  Everything Everywhere All At Once, and it sounds like those CGI skills will come in handy given the plotline that’s been revealed for Sand and Stones.

‘When the sun sets, ferocious creatures of the night hunt and devour all living souls in their path. When Thomas makes a small mistake, the beasts gain the upper hand and come for them. In a race against time, Paul, Thomas and Joseph must execute a desperate plan for survival.’

Michael Nilon penned the screenplay.

The film is set to shoot in Dublin in November and will be co-financed by Highland Films. Cage will be looking to continue a strong run of performances that have won him acclaim of late, including Pig and The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent. We’ll bring you more on this project as we hear it.
