Now Mulan has been pulled from release schedules too

Disney announces that Mulan has been delayed indefinitely, as fresh delays hit new Star Wars and Avatar films as well.

Uncertainty continues to be at the heart of cinema schedules over the coming months, with the news that Disney has now delayed its big budget new take on Mulan again. The film was originally due in March, then July, and then August. But with American cinemas far from fully open and concerns over whether enough people will be heading back to multiplexes when they do open their doors, the film has been pushed back again.

As with Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, this time no new release date has been announced. All Disney is saying at the moment is that it is “pausing our release plans for Mulan as we assess how we can most effectively bring this film to audiences around the world”.

It’s also announced year-long delays to each of the Avatar sequels and its next Star Wars trilogy. Avatar 2 will now arrive in December 2022, and the next Star Wars feature won’t be with us until December 2023.

When we get a new date for Mulan, we’ll let you know. Might be a little while yet, though…
