The BAFTA nominations have been announced and, as suspected, One Battle After Another and Sinners are at the top of the list.

The awards season is now well underway and following last week’s Oscar nominations, we now have the full list of BAFTA nominations.

No major surprises in the list. As per usual, it tends to be the same few films getting nominated across the board. This year those films One Battle After Another, Sinners and Hamnet with Marty Supreme and Sentimental Value following close behind. All of these films, up for Best Film at the BAFTAs, fully deserve to be nominated, they’re thoroughly excellent.

Great to see Robert Aramayo nominated for Best Actor for his performance in the fantastic I Swear and Peter Mullan was also nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category. Jesse Plemons also managed to squeeze into the Best Actor category for Bugonia, after being somewhat snubbed by the Academy last week.

One of the biggest, most exciting categories is the EE Rising Star Award which is voted by the public each year. Aramayo is nominated here as well and is joined by Sinners’ Miles Caton, Lollipop’s Posy Sterling, One Battle After Another’s Chase Infinity and Lurker’s Archie Madekwe.

Find the full – and very long – list of nominees below. The winners will be announced on the 22nd February at a gala held at the Royal Festival Hall in London.
