Paddington In Peru, the long awaited third instalment of the beloved Paddington series, will begin production in July.

In the words of Pedro Pascal, talking about Paddington 2 in The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent: “I cried through the entire thing, it made me want to be a better man”.

It is a sentiment shared by many as, in the years since its release, Paddington 2 has become one of the most beloved British films of recent times.

Paddington In Peru is the name of the third instalment, which will be the first not to be directed by Paul King. Dougal Wilson is making his feature debut, though King, along with original co-writers Simon Farnaby and Mark Burton, wrote the story for the new film.

Burton, Jon Foster and James Lamont penned the screenplay. King is also onboard as an executive producer.

The story is said to revolve around Paddington’s return to his homeland, for an adventure in “deepest, darkest Peru”. Although, to be fair, the title does give a broad clue as to where the whole thing is going.

No casting has officially been confirmed, though it is likely that Ben Whishaw will reprise the title role.
