The director of the last four Harry Potter movies – and the three Fantastic Beasts films – is David Yates, and he’s stepping away from that world for his next movie. He’s back behind the camera for Pain Hustlers, which has just begun screening to middling-ish reviews. The synopsis for the movie has been released as Netflix amps up the publicity machine, and it reads as follows: Liza (Emily Blunt) is a blue-collar single mom who lost her job and is now at the end of her rope. A chance meeting with pharmaceutical rep Pete Brenner (Chris Evans) puts her on an upwards path economically but dubious path ethically as she becomes entangled in a dangerous racketeering scheme. Dealing with her unhinged boss (Andy Garcia), the worsening medical condition of her daughter (Chloe Coleman), and a growing awareness of the devastation the company is causing forces Liza to examine her choices. Pain Hustlers is a sharp and revealing look at what some people do out of desperation and others do out of greed. Completing the cast – and it’s an impressive ensemble here – are Catherine O’Hara, Amit Shah, Aubrey Dollar and Willie Raysor. David Yates directs from a screenplay by Wells Tower, based on the novel of the same name by Evan Hughes. What’s more, Pain Hustlers will stream on Netflix from the 27th October. Which must meant that it’s trailer time! Netflix has indeed releases a proper glimpse at the movie, and it looks like this… — Thank you for visiting!
