The acclaimed Poor Things is coming to DVD and Blu-ray in the UK in March, although there’s no 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release.

Timed for just a week or two after the Academy Awards, where it seems unthinkable that the film won’t help itself to a couple of gongs, Yorgos Lanthimos’ latest Poor Things is coming to DVD and Blu-ray in the UK this March.

The film, starring Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo and Willem Dafoe, hasn’t been rushed onto Disney+, in spite of being a Disney-owned production (via Searchlight Pictures). It’s a fair bet it’ll be on the streaming service soon though, but ahead of that we get news of the physical media release in the UK.

On the downside, that gorgeous production design (and, er, the ‘furious jumping’) won’t be available on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray. But, on the plus side, it’s getting a physical media release, with Disney lining up the movie for DVD and Blu-ray.

It’s gone up for pre-order on 25th March 2024 in the UK, and the listing also has some extra features on it. Not many extra features, but some:

‘Featurette: Possessing Beauty – The Making Of Poor Things, Deleted Things.’

Make of those what you will.

You can preorder the movie, and find more information on the discs, right here.

It’s not looking like every Searchlight Pictures movie will get a physical media release, so the fact that Poor Things is may be more exception than rule. Nothing as of yet has popped up regarding a disc release of the superb All Of Us Strangers, and there’s a rumour that may get a digital outing only. More news on that as and when – in fact, if – we hear it.

In the case of Poor Things, at least it’s coming to disc, and preorders for the movie are open now.
