Classics from the Warner Bros vault are on their way to the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format: here are details on Rebel With A Cause, Cool Hand Luke and The Maltese Falcon.
After starting its home media celebrations of its 100th birthday with Training Day and – er – a Batman & Robin steelbook, Warner Bros is now very much ramping things up. It’s announced a trio of its vintage favourites coming to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, and they’ve all now gone up for pre-order.
First up is the James Dean and Natalie Wood classic, Rebel Without A Cause. You can find out more about that particular release – and order a copy – right here. It arrives on April 17th.
Meanwhile, on April 3rd is the Humphrey Bogart-headlined noir The Maltese Falcon, in which Bogie plays one of his most famous roles, Detective Sam Space. More details on that one are here.
And on the same day, the great Paul Newman in one of his greatest roles, taking the lead in 1967’s Cool Hand Luke. No eggs included in the packaging for this release, an opportunity very much missed. Still, more information is right here.
Warner Bros is also lining up a five-film boxset and classic films from the 1930s through to the 1960s. You’ll find Rebel With A Cause in there, as well as Casablanca, Singin’ In The Rain, The Wizard Of Oz and Citizen Kane. That set is available here.
More Warner Bros 100th anniversary releases shortly…
