Stephen King’s classic short story Children Of The Corn is getting the adaptation treatment again, and here’s the trailer.

Stephen King’s Children Of The Corn has probably been mined (or should we say reaped?) for all it’s worth at this point, but that isn’t stopping a ‘reimagining’ of the tale heading to our screens soon. Considering King’s original work is just a short story, it spawned a pretty faithful 1984 take starring Linda Hamilton and Peter Horton, before another five or so sequels released, successively straying further and further from the author’s original idea.

There’s been a couple more standalone adaptations since then as well, with the most recent one coming out in 2020.

Still, the streaming platform Shudder is banking that there’s still an audience out there wanting to see more of kids chasing adults out into cornfields and slaughtering them. Who knows, maybe they’re right? Either way, the new take on King’s short story will be headed to the streaming platform on March 21st. It’s getting an 18 day theatrical release beforehand in the US, but no word yet if that’s happening here. As it stands, it would be going up against Creed III if it did release on March 3rd.

The film stars Elena Kampouris, Kate Moyer, Callan Mulvey and Bruce Spence. It is directed by Kurt Wimmer. We’ll let you know should details of a UK cinema release emerge, but if not you can find it on Shudder on March 21st. Here’s that trailer below.
